Hello and welcome

Cambridge Educational Psychologist

I am a private Educational Psychologist based in South Cambridgeshire. I also work in parts of Hertfordshire, Suffolk and Bedfordshire and can offer remote work too, depending on the circumstances. I work with children and young people aged between 4 and 16 years old, their families and schools.

If your child, or a pupil in your school, is having difficulties at school, and/or they are struggling to attend school, an Educational Psychologist can help.

A child may be referred to an Educational Psychologist for many different reasons. It may be they are having problems with aspects of their learning, their difficulties could be social in nature, or their mental or physical wellbeing is suffering. Maybe they are struggling with sensory differences, or it is their communication and language that are acting as a barrier to learning. It could be that any of these difficulties are being shown through distressed behaviour. Their difficulties could be due to an interaction of two or more of these areas.

I work collaboratively with children, parents and teachers, placing the child at the centre of everything I do. I use evidence based psychological assessment and consultation to build a holistic picture, including both the child’s strengths and the barriers to learning that are currently standing in their way. From this understanding, we can then build solutions to help your child become mentally healthier, happier and nurture their abilities to enable them to achieve.

I understand that as a parent it is incredibly hard to navigate the education system if your child has additional needs, daily life can also be hugely stressful. My aim is to provide a friendly and approachable service that listens carefully to you and your child, working flexibly to meet your individual circumstances.
